Second suspect in ‘Human Leadership Academy’ sexual abuse case surrenders

The second suspect wanted in connection with the abuse of female students at a private institute in Hantana, Kandy - the ‘Human Leadership Academy’ - surrendered to police last morning.

Police said the suspect, Nimal Peris, was arrested by the OIC of the Children and Women Bureau of the Kandy Police Station, after he surrendered himself to the Police.

He will be produced before the Kandy Magistrate.

The main suspect, Chandimal Gamage was arrested and remanded previously.

Kandy Police is investigating.
