Jail guard’s gun goes off

An automatic rifle belonging to a jail guard accompanying a group of prisoners from the Angunakolapelessa Prison to the Hambantota Courts accidently went off when he was alighting from the prison bus at the court premises yesterday morning.

No one was injured. Hambantota Police are investigating.
