New Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) Oshada Senanayake assumed his duties at the TRCSL yesterday (21) morning, the TRCSL media unit told Daily News.

Addressing the TRCSL staff following the commencement of work, DG Senanayake highlighted that in order for the concept of ‘Smart Sri’ to become a reality, the Sri Lanka Telecom Regulatory Commission (TRC) should take the lead in introducing 5G technology in the computer industry for Sri Lanka.

Senanayake said that Sri Lanka would not be able to realise advancements without this new technology. He requested the support of the TRCSL employees to enhance the technological advancements necessary to develop Sri Lanka under his guidance.

Senanayake, a past pupil of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computing from the University of Northumbria, England and a Masters in Business Management and Marketing from the Australian Institute of Business.

A computer engineer and young entrepreneur, DG Senanayake has extensive experience in the United States and the United Kingdom. He is a leading entrepreneur in the ICT in Sri Lanka.
