The distribution of Rs 5,000 each to the families whose incomes were badly affected by the recent police curfews and lockdown of villages began today.
The Government has allocated Rs 400 million to distribute this allowance to affected families in the Gampaha District. Over 72,000 families will be benefited under the first stage.
The beneficiaries in Minuwangoda collected their allowance at Kalawana Sri Hasthiwanarama Viharaya today.
