The largest wind power plant in the country will be connected to the national grid tomorrow (8) under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in Mannar.
The US$ 145 million power plant in Mannar will use the world’s latest technology to add 100 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
The Power and Energy Ministry plans to transform the renewable energy sector through this power plant,which will mark a significant milestone in electricity generation.
Power and Energy Minister Dallas Alahapperuma, Solar, Wind and Hydro Power Generation State Minister Duminda Dissanayake are scheduled to attend the event.
