Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Thalatha Athukorala yesterday requested the government to implement the COVID-19 vaccination drive in a formal manner covering all parts of the country.
She said the whole world has recognised vaccination is the best way of arresting the COVID-19 pandemic and her Party extends fullest support to the government in controlling this pandemic. “My Party is ready to give its fullest support to the government to arrest the spread of COVID-19 in the country irrespective of our political differences,”she said.
She said that the people’s lives are in danger as the government is acting on the advice given by individuals who are not in the realm of health. The MP said the government should give an ear to the instructions given by the health sector and experienced hands in the health sector in the calibre of State Minister Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle.
