Basil’s name gazetted as MP

The National Election Commission today issued a Gazette Extraordinary nominating former Economic Development Minister and SLPP founder Basil Rajapaksa as a Member of Parliament.

The Commission in the Gazette Extraordinary declared Basil Rohana Rajapaksa as a Member of Parliament to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Parliamentarian Jayantha Ketagoda.

It has been issued with the signature of five Commissioners including Chairman Nimal G. Punchihewa.
