Two elephants found dead

Two elephant carcasses were found on August 18 in Herathhalmillewa in Kebithigollewa by Kebithigollewa Police on a tip off by villagers.

The Anuradhapura Wildlife Office has been informed in this regard and postmortem were to be carried out yesterday, they said.

Wildlife Officials said that the postmortems will be carried out by Veterinarian Dr. Chandana Jayasinghe of the Wildlife Department in charge of the Anuradhapura Division.

The elephants might have died by electrocution, the residents said.
