PHIs volunteer to vaccinate students

Public Health Inspectors' (PHIs) Union President Upul Rohana said that the PHIs are prepared to commence the vaccination of students against the COVID-19 pandemic.

About 2,400 PHIs and 4,000 Family Health Nurses will vaccinate the students enabling them to attend schools without any fear of the pandemic. Since the Education Ministry is exploring the possibility of re-opening the schools next month under the health guidelines declared by the Health Ministry, the PHIs will vaccinate the students as per the instructions of the Health authorities, he said.
