Cinnamon to be grown in Hipankanda for export

Hipankanda in Tissamaharama will be a cinnamon export village under a plan mooted by Plantation and Industries Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.

A meeting was held in this regard recently with the participation of Samurdhi Minister Shehan Semasinghe recently. Rs. 1 billion will be spent on the project. Those who are willing to cultivate cinnamon will be given incentives, training and loans to make the project a success.
