The Spokesman of the Ministry of Power Sulakshana Jayawardena said that a power cut will not occur until February.
He further said that even if an oil crisis arises, electricity will be produced with hydro power. Thus, even if the country were to face an oil crisis, hydro electricity will function as an alternative.
Moreover, he added that it is usual that Sri Lanka experiences a dry climate from February onwards and it is too early to comment beyond the month of February.
