Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) National Organiser Tissa Attanayake said in Gampola that the Opposition was ready to assist the Government in resolving the crisis in the country.
Attanayake was addressing the gathering after launching the second phase of the party's Sadaham Yathra Programme at Gampola Naranwita Purana Viharaya.
“We ask the Government to seek the support of all to resolve this crisis and discuss what needs to be done in this regaqrd.
We do not expect to be part of the Government or accept government ministerial posts.
But we are ready to make that sacrifice for the people. We have from time to time asked the Government to seek the support of the Opposition to resolve the country's economic crisis, including health,” Attanayake said.
“However, the Government rejected our proposal because of their ignorance,” Attanayake added.
