Government Agent says gas quota for Batticaloa has not arrived yet

The last two days people have been queueing for gas at Pioneer Road, Batticaloa under the Vanyan tree.

Parliamentarian Sankkiyan, Jana Krunagaran, Batticaloa Mayor T. Saravanapavan, Deputy Mayor K. Sathiyaseelan, Batticaloa HQI K. Hetiyarchchi and Councilors inquired from them and took their complaint to the Government Agent.

The GA explained that the gas quota for Batticaloa has not arrived and requested the public to disperse ignoring that the people are continuing staying in the queue and requesting the Police to supply tokens so that they can come and collect the gas later. The Police said that they cannot issue token without knowing when the gas will come.
