Car rams into 12 vehicles, topples on Vajira road

A car had skidded off the road and toppled on Vajira Road in Colombo on Tuesday evening causing damage to more than 12 vehicles.

The car had turned into Vajira Road and was heading towards Duplication Road when the driver had lost control of the vehicle and had crashed into many vehicles parked along Vajira Road before toppling.

Many of the cars parked along the side of Vajira Road were vehicles of parents who had come to pick their children from Visakha Vidyalaya.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash had been hospitalised and the police had obtained a statement from the driver.

It is believed that the brakes had failed and the driver had lost control of the car which had crashed into several other parked vehicles and overturned.
