Riot acts: President appoints Commission of Inquiry

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday appointed a Commission of Inquiry (CoI) to investigate into all damage to the life and property including arson, robbery and killings that took place in the country between March 31, 2022 to May 15, 2022.

This Commission of Inquiry headed by retired Supreme Court Judge Justice B.P.Aluvihare PC, comprises former SDIG S.M.Wickremasinghe and Additional Chief Accessor N.A.S.Wasantha Kumara as members.

President’s Additional Secretary Buwenaka Herath has been appointed Commission’s Secretary. The Commission members received letters of appointment from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at President’s House yesterday.
