Dies in accident while going fo a party

A Jaffna schoolboy who was going to a party with his friend to celebrate the completion of the GCE Ordinary Level examination met with a tragic death after his motorcycle overturned.

A close friend of the deceased who was travelling in the pillion was also admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital with serious injuries.

The accident took place in Vadamarachchi Kunjarkudai area in Jaffna. The deceased is a 17-year-old Selvamohan Vanijan, a resident of the Mandan Karanavai West area in Jaffna.

“He had been riding his motorbike at high speed and had lost control of it,” Police said. Nelliady Police in Jaffna are conducting further investigations into the incident.
