Colombo bourse recouped some of the losses made in the last few days and remained in the green territory. Thus, The All-Share Price Index increased by 141.6 points (+1.9%) to close at 7,772.7 whilst S& P SL20 Index also increased by 74.6 points (+3.0%) to close at 2,529.1. Expolanka Holdings, LOLC Holdings, John Keells Holdings, Melstacorp and Hayleys and remained as the top positive contributors to the ASPI during the day.
Further, the broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 1,022.9 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,645.2 million, whilst the volume traded for the day was 45,740.8k against the 12-month average daily volume of 224,103.9k. Capital Goods and Transportation mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.
The top turnover generators for yesterday were Lanka IOC Rs. 218.8 million (+5.4%), Expolanka Holdings Rs.182.4 mn (+7.8%), Browns Investments Rs. 108.2 million (+3.6%), John Keells Holdings Rs.87.1 million (+1.8%) and LOLC Finance Rs.48.9 mn (+5.5%).
Foreigners recorded a net inflow of Rs. 66.7 million yesterday. Foreign purchases stood at Rs. 87.3 mn whilst total foreign sales amounted to Rs. 20.6 mn. Further, no off-board transactions were witnessed yesterday.
Additionally, Industrial Asphalts, Senkadagala Finance, Tess Agro (Non-Voting), York Arcade Holdings and Softlogic Life Insurance were the top price gainers yesterday whilst Amana Takaful Life, Lee Hedges, Alufab, Samson International and First Capital Treasuries were the top price losers. Further, Browns Investments, LOLC Finance, Lanka IOC, Softlogic Capital and SMB Leasing (Voting & Non-Voting) were amongst the most actively traded stocks yesterday.
