Food relief from Tamil Nadu for the East

Three-thousand-one-hundred food relief packs including rice and milk powder from Tamil Nadu, India, have been handed over to families living below the poverty line in the 18 Grama Niladhari divisions of Kattankudy yesterday (8).

Part of the food relief packets – 50,000 packets of rice and 3,750 packets of milk – are to be distributed in the 14 secretarial divisions in the Batticaloa district.

Kattankudy Divisional Secretary U. Uthayasrithar handed over the relief items. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Tamil Nadu Government for this humanitarian aid.
