China ships first batch of rice under humanitarian assistance

China says it has shipped the first batch of rice from China to Sri Lanka under humanitarian assistance.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in a note on his Twitter account that the first batch of drugs donated to Sri Lanka by China’s US$ 500 million humanitarian aid had recently been brought to Sri Lanka from Hong Kong.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the rice will be delivered to Sri Lanka in the next few days, which will be a solution to the possible food crisis in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, the Government has taken steps to supply 2,400 metric tons of rice for the next few days in June, of which 500 metric tons has been handed over to the CWE.
