The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a Memorandum presented by Minister of Tourism and Lands Harin Fernando to issue soft liquor licenses to all establishments registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) yesterday.
“This will help promote tourism and bring foreign revenue for the country as well as all tourism stakeholders. Big win for tourism in Sri Lanka. Thank you @RW_UNP”, said Minister Fernando in a tweet while thanking the Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe. The particular Cabinet Paper has also sought to decentralize the licensing process thus enabling the Assistant Excise Offices at Provincial Level or the district level excise authorities to issue the said permit.
