The police seek public assistance in confirming the identities of persons suspected to be involved in the assault on Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon, an SP and two other police officers and causing them injuries and damaging a police vehicle.
SDIG Deshabandu Tennakoon and a group were assaulted and injuries inflicted on them on May 10 at Perahera Mawatha, Colpetty. The Colombo Crimes Division is conducting investigations into the incident and upon examination of surveillance footage and the investigations, several suspects have been identified. Hence, the police seek the assistance of the public to confirm the identities of these suspects.
