People advised not to bathe at waterfalls in spate

Due to the heavy rains with the onset of the South West Monsoon, the Disaster Management Centre has requested people to avoid bathing at waterfalls and reservoirs which are in spate, in the Badulla and Monaragala districts.

The Disaster Management Department and the police said many people have lost their lives in the Badulla district’s Ravana Falls, Diyaluma Falls and Dunhinda Falls and the Ellewala Falls in the Monaragala district.
