Flights between Jaffna and India will re-start this week, Secretary of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) S.M. Saman Bandulasena said.
Accordingly, flights will start between Jaffna and Chennai and also steps have been taken to resume internal flights from Jaffna to Ratmalana, he said.
With the spread of the Coronavirus in the recent past, the Jaffna International Airport had to be closed due to the decision to close all the internal airports in Sri Lanka.
During this period, the renovation and modernization work was carried out at the Jaffna International Airport at a cost of US$ 200 million with the support of the Indian Government.
