Two who stole woman’s purse tracked from message after card purchase

Two persons who stole a purse from a female who had come to see the Dalada perahera were arrested by the police.

The suspects had used the victim’s ATM card to make a purchase at a clothing store nearby.

The victim has informed the police about the purchase as she received an automated message following the transaction to her mobile phone.

The police team deployed to Perahera security purposes, immediately surrounded the said clothing outlet and checked the CCTV footage.

The two suspects were taken into custody following the examination.

The police had taken only 30 minutes to arrest the suspects from the time the theft was reported. The arrested were handed over to Kandy police.
