LITRO Lanka reduced the price of 12.5 kg gas cylinder by Rs.113 from midnight yesterday (05). LITRO Lanka Chairman Muditha Peiris said that the new price of a 12.5 kg gas cylinder will be Rs.4551. Earlier, the 12.5 kg gas cylinder was sold at Rs.4,664.
Meanwhile, the price of 05 kg gas cylinder has been reduced by Rs.45 while the 2.3 kg gas cylinder will be reduced by Rs. 21.
Accordingly, the new 05 kg gas cylinder will be sold at Rs. 1,827 and 2.3 kg gas cylinder at Rs.848.
The LITRO Lanka Chairman observed that the price reduction is due to global gas price fluctuations.
The decision to revise the prices follows newly added features to the existing gas price formula. The decision was taken by LITRO Lanka under the guidance of the Finance Ministry, Consumer Affairs Authority and the Presidential Secretariat.
