Ambassadors’ Forum on debt restructuring held

An Ambassadors’ Forum on debt restructuring and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program commenced yesterday evening virtually with the participation of 16 Colombo-based missions and six missions from overseas.

This was under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe with the participation of 16 Colombo based Missions and 6 virtually from New Delhi a release from President Media Division said.

The IMF officials in Colombo earlier said that they have in principle agreed to lend US$ 2.9 billion on a 48-month disbursement which has to be ratified by the IMF at Executive Board level.
