Requiem Mass for Queen held

A requiem Eucharist Mass for Queen Elizabeth II was held at the Church of Ceylon, by Bishop Dushantha Lakshman Rodrigo, on Sunday, September 18 at 4.00 pm. This was organized on behalf of the Christian population of Sri Lanka to mark their last respects to the late queen. Rev. Dr. S. Chandru Fernando, founder of Sri Lanka Christian Development Forum and Ambassador for Sri Lanka - United Council for Music Education, told the gathering that the death of the Queen was a great loss to the Christian community and also to everyone. Rev. Dr. Fernando took part in this service on the invitation of British High Commissioner Sarah Hulton. All senior foreign diplomats took part in this service on the invitation of the British High Commissioner.
