Seventeen year old Netball, Badminton, Chess Player, Athlete, Captain of the under 18 National Schools Zonal Champions and member of the All Island under 20 Super Milo Tournament Champion Team, Hiranya Senanthi Kumari de Silva has brought honour and immense glory to her Alma Mater Holy Family Convent Kurunegala with her deeds in the field of sports.
Senanthi who was born on June, 12, 2005 hails from Kurunegala and was admitted to Holy Family Convent in 2011 and she was in Grade 4 and 5 she participated in Badminton, Chess and Athletics and fared well and in 2016 her parents Buddhika Kumara de Silva and Deepika Kumari de Silva handed over their daughter to the school netball coaches Mrs. Amalka and Ananda
Wannithilake and she commenced strenuous training under them in the under 12 Netball Pool. Same year her team participated in the Divisional, Zonal and Provincial Tournaments and swept the board and at the All Island Under 13 Milo Tournament they clinched the Trophy. Then in 2019 they followed the lower tournament process and winning the tournaments they won the under 15 All Island Milo Tournament and she captained the team.
In 2016 they won the All Island under 16 Championship and she was a member and in the following year they participated in the All Island Youth Netball Championship and they emerged Champions and at the 2022 All Island Under 20 Super Milo Tournament Championship she was a member of the Squad and in the recently held National Schools Zonal Under 18 Tournament she captained the team and won the Championship and her school qualified for the Provincial Tournament and presently she is the Skipper of the School Under 18 Team.
