Prison inmate dies after falling into boiling cauldron

An inmate of the Angunukolapelessa Prison who had fallen into a boiling cauldron of curry died after 10 days, on Thursday (6).

He met with this accident on September 26 and died while receiving treatment at the Tangalle Hospital.

According to the Prisons Department, the deceased had been imprisoned in 2001 for 25 years over a murder case. The Prisons Department has launched an investigation into the incident.
