Public Financial Management System Act to be presented next year - Semasinghe

Finance State Minister Shehan Semasinghe announced in Parliament yesterday (23) that the Public Financial Management System Act will be introduced next year.

The State Minister said this while joining the Committee Stage Debate of Budget 2023 commenced in Parliament yesterday morning.

In addition, the State Minister said that the Anti-Corruption Act will also be introduced.

The government has never spoken about non-payment of domestic debt. He requested to refrain from making statements without looking for the facts or without understanding the truth. He also pointed out that if any questionable facts emerge during the economic crisis, this economy will further decline.

Many economic reforms are being carried out today. This is how to get out of this slump and avoid such a crisis again.

Although some people spoke against this budget, no one came forward to present better proposals. State Minister Semasinghe also pointed out that the economy will fall to an even lower level if further doubts are presented in the face of the current economic crisis.

In this budget, special attention has been given to the poor and the economically distressed people. President Ranil Wickremesinghe made different reforms than the government that existed after assuming Presidency.
