Sri Lanka will take on China in the Asia Rugby Sevens Series third leg curtain-raiser match at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday.
The Sri Lankan Tuskers have been drawn in Pool ‘A’ for the UAE leg alongside Hong Kong and Malaysia while Pool ‘B’ consists of South Korea, Philippines, UAE and Japan.
The Sri Lanka Men’s Team had a successful series in the second leg in South Korea two weeks ago where they finished fourth with Hong Kong claiming the Cup Championship final.
Sri Lanka’s second match of the tournament will be against Malaysia at 2.50 p.m. local time and they will complete their preliminary round matches with the third and last match against Hong Kong at 6.35 p.m. local time.
The two top teams from each Pool will qualify to compete in the Cup Championship segment while the last two teams will battle it out for the Plate and Bowl Championship on Sunday. The first day fixtures:
