Live bullets found among Midnight Mass offerings

The Police stated that two live bullets used for T-56 firearms were found amongst the offerings given at the midnight Christmas Mass conducted in the Madampe-Chilaw Catholic Church diocese. After the mass, during the inspection of the offerings, these live bullets were found in a small black box inside a white bag.

 “In the box where the live bullets were placed, nine scales of different sizes used for weighing gold jewellery, eight small pieces of glass cut to the same size and a glass of an eyeglass were also found, Parish priest Fr. Jude Dias.

He said these offerings come from 08 churches in the diocese and it is difficult to say from which church the bullet containing box came from. Police are investigating.
