Two people who had been seriously injured in a sword attack were admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital on Sunday (01), Habaraduwa Police said. The injured persons are residents of Welekoratuwa, Tailpe in Habaraduwa. According to Police, a 10 member gang was involved in the attack.
Police further said that the attack was connected to a dispute between two parties regarding an attack at a wedding ceremony three to four months ago. The injured are aged 38 and 42 and residents of Welekoratuwa. The persons involved in this incident have fled the area. Investigations are being conducted under the direction of Habaraduwa OIC CI Ashoka Karunaratne to arrest the suspects.
