Lumbini Cricket Carnival on January 21

Old Lumbiniyans Association has organised inagural OLA cricket carnival which is scheduled to be held on January 21 at BRC grounds.

According to the President of the Old Lumbiniyans Association Kalum Sujith the cricket carnival conducted by the Lumbini College old boys Association mainly focused to develop brotherhood among old boys and present boys while the event goal is to bring together parents, teachers (both present and former), students and old boys, administrators and instructors at this cricket carnival.

The competitions have three formats school league, Competitive league and Social league. The Principal of the Lumbini College Sarath Gunatilleka said the college already produced National players from cricket, football, rugby and athletic.

Ranil Dhammika, Malinda Pushpakumara, Prabath Jayasuriya, Vikum Sanjaya, Thanuka Dabare are the National players from Lumbini. Several yougesters are still involved with cricket at school level to come forward.

The 93-year-old Lumbini College has very proud history and wanted to uplift the sports and this event is a good one for the sports development of College added Principal Sarath Gunatilleka at the press conference held yesterday at the College premises.
