Greatly contributed to uplift film industry - Minister

Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena expressing his condolences noted that Dr. Sumithra Peries greatly contributed to the uplift of the film industry in Sri Lanka. He commended her great commitment to the country’s film industry to take it to the international level.

“I recently had a discussion with her regarding the 51st anniversary of the Film Corporation.

The discussion was on ‘Sandeshaya’ film which we requested to show on coming 20th as a token of celebration. Then we finally decided on showing the Rekhawa film instead. Until her final breath, she was fully committed to our film industry,” Dr.Gunawardena pointed out.
