Former Minister Fowzie to enter House again

Elections Commission Chief Nimal Punchihewa yesterday confirmed that former Minister A. H. M. Fowzie will fill the vacancy created with the resignation of SJB parliamentarian Mujibur Rahaman from his parliamentary seat. Fowzie is next in line in terms of preferences received at the 2020 Parliamentary poll.

Fowzie told the Daily News that he would be appointed to fill the resignation of SJB MP Mujibar Rahuman. “I was informed by the Election Commission to submit an affidavit yesterday evening. I am next in line in terms of preferential votes and I will get it automatically”, he said.
