The Hikkaduwa Police has arrested a woman in connection with the murder of two travelling on a motorcycle to appear in a murder case pending before the Galle Magistrate’s Court were shot dead on October 31, 2022 in Thiranagama.
The police say the suspect who is known in the area as Kudu Singithi had given a contract to kill the two people. She had offered two million rupees for the murders.
This has been revealed during questioning of underworld leader Ravidu Silva alias Buru Muna, who is currently in custody of the police. It has been revealed that Buru Muna shot and killed Prasanna Mendis, a father of three, and his sister’s son Isuru Prasanna (21), who were travelling on a motorcycle to appear before court. Dineshika Kumari de Silva (31), alias Kudu Singithi, the sister of the underworld criminal named Kata Roshan, had reportedly handed over the murder contract to Harak Kata on the insistence of Rathgama Vidura, a powerful drug dealer and underworld criminal who is said to be in Italy.
According to police information, Buru Muna has revealed during questioning that Singithi gave the T-56 weapon used in the shooting, the motorcycle that he travelled and even a three-wheeler for his escape after the killings.
