SJB Kalutara district MP Dr. Rajitha Senaratne yesterday said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe put the country’s economy on the right track and he is not a blind not to see it.
The former Minister said that he is not prepared to make statements at the behest of others and he will not leave the party either. Whether leaving a party or joining another party is not a question. “The question is whether the country is built or not,” he said.
“The President has got the country out of the economic mess. If we don’t accept this fact, we are among the blind,” he said.
He said that each and every person he meets, re-affirm this truth.
Senaratne responding to a question raised by a journalist whether he is leaving the party said that many Parliamentarians in his Party are saying that they are not leaving the Party. “We were told to make such a statement. I have self confidence and I am taking decision based on my conscience”, he said.
He said that he is taking decisions based on his political ideology. “Do we see long queues for fuel ?, he asked.
Senaratne said that the fuel prices are on the decline and the prices of domestic LP Gas were reduced by more than Rs.1,000 on Tuesday.
