Minor Earthquake near Hambanthota coast

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 has been recorded near Hambanthota. According to the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau the tremor has occurred around 25.8km off the coast of Hambanthota towards the South-Eastern direction at around 12.45am

There is no immediate threat of Tsunamis according to Disaster Management Centre.
