The First Issuance of the Rap Song Enjoy the Sea by High-Speed Train and the Hand Picture Book Go to Laos by Train

On April 26, the Ceremony for the First Issuance of the Rap Song Enjoy the Sea by High-Speed Train (in Laotian) and the Hand Picture Book Go to Laos by Train (in Chinese and Laotian) was held in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China.

The year of 2023 marks the 10th Anniversary of the “Belt and Road” Initiative. China-Laos Railway has been opened for more than a year as a landmark project of the "Belt and Road", promoting the economic and social development of China and Laos, and witnessing the enduring friendship between both parties. It is not only a bridge of connectivity between both parties, but also a link of common people.

Located in Southwest China, Yunnan Province is a hub of China, which connects the hinterland of Eurasia with Indochina Peninsula and the Indian Ocean. China-Laos Railway passes through the border. In the month when a cross-border passenger train of China-Laos Railway was opened, the Rap Song Enjoy the Sea by High-Speed Train (in Laotian) and the Hand Picture Book Go to Laos by Train (in Chinese and Laotian) were issued for the first time in Xishuangbanna, where borders Laos, aiming at promoting mutual appreciation between Chinese and Laotian civilizations, inheriting traditional friendship, and further opening channels and building bridges for exchanges and cooperation between Yunnan and the Laos.

The Chinese version of the Rap Song Enjoy the Sea by High-Speed Train (in Laotian) was launched at the 2023 "Spring Festival Variety Gala- Cultural Exchange Series of China, India, Cambodia, and Mongolia", and has been widely broadcast on national media and social media platforms in Laos, the United States, Cambodia, and Myanmar, etc. The total number of views on the network has exceeded 150 million.

The Rap Song Enjoy the Sea by High-Speed Train (in Laotian)" issued for the first time was jointly produced by the Information Office of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Yunnan Branch of the China News Agency, and was newly performed by the Laotian Music Creation Team and Laotian singers. Sisouvanh Xongjaiyua, the Laotian singer of the Song, said that the lyrics expresses the expectation of Chinese and Laotian people to be benefit from China-Laos Railway, and extend and play an exemplary role continuously.

The Hand Picture Book Go to Laos by Train (in Chinese and Laotian) was planned and published by Yunnan Education Press and takes the role of anthropomorphic animals. It tells a journey story of a Chinese tourist, Xiao Ling (Yunnan snub-nosed monkey) and a Laotian student, A Kang (Laos lotong), who completed the railway professional training in Kunming, China. They went to Vientiane by train and enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way with the steward Uncle Xiang (Asian elephant). They carried the friendship between the Chinese and Laotian people for generations, and completed a romantic journey passing over mountains and rivers.

Yang Jun, Vice President of Yunnan Education Press, introduced that the Hand Picture Book is a transformative new product based on the book What is Yunnan. It reflects with vivid stories that China-Laos Railway is a "green road" for harmonious coexistence and rooting interest of human beings, nature, economy and ecology. It also reflects that China-Laos Railway actively integrates into the service of the "Belt and Road", providing powerful support for constructing a community of common destiny between China and Laos.

The Ceremony for the first issuance was organized by the Information Office of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government and the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and hosted by the Yunnan Branch of the China News Agency. On the same day, Lai Yong, the Full-time Deputy Director of the Information Office of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, Wang Yu, the Full-time Deputy President of the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Zhe Luo Bieyao, the Director of the Consular Office of Laos in Jinghong, attended the Ceremony.
