Akkaraipattu Raheemiya –A team emerged champions of the ’AKPCQ Champion Trophy-2023’ cricket tournament when they won the final against ICON team by 5 wickets played at the Old Ideal grounds, Qatar recently.
Akkaraipattu Community Qatar (AKPCQ) had organized eight-a- side limited overs tape ball cricket tournament for the six consecutive
year among the migrant workers from Akkaraipattu in Qatar.
There are eight prominent teams namely Raheemiya -A, Raheemiya –B, Learnovate –A, Learnovate –B, the Revengers, Adipoli, Ultra Legends, ICON participated in the tournament.
ICON team batted first and scored 54 runs for loss of six wickets. In reply Akkaraipattu Raheemiya –A team reached the target for the loss of two wickets. Rauff of the ICON team was adjudged Man of the Series.
