Pottuvil Rock Challengers Sports Club team emerged champions in the final and bagged the ‘Pottuvil Champion Trophy -2023’ and Super Hit Sports Club, Thandiyadi team emerged runner-up at the limited overs cricket tournament conducted by the Pottuvil Friends Circle played at the Pasarichchenai Public grounds in Pottuvil recently.
Altogether 32 teams from the area took part in this tournament. Pottuvil Rock Challengers Sports Club and Thandiyadi Super Hit Sports Club cricket teams qualified for the final. Pottuvil Rock Challengers SC team batting first scored 129 runs in their eight overs for loss of four wickets. (Opening batsman Amjath -59 and Mohamed Sajeer -34).
In reply Thandiyadi Super Hit SC team was skittled out for 51 runs (Kuna -12).
S.M.Muhas and P.M.Amjath of Rock Challengers SC team were adjudged the Man of the Series and Man of the Match.
Champion Pottuvil Rock Challengers SC team were awarded Rs.30,000 cash prize and trophy and the runner-up Thandiyadi Super Hit SC team was awarded Rs.15,000 and a trophy. Trophies and cash prize for winning teams were distributed by the guests on the occasion.
Aqsha SC President Mahir, Rock Challengers SC Advisor Attoney-at-law Faisal Mohideen, Health Department Inquary Officer A.R.Yaser, clubs officials were present at the awards ceremony.
