Man shot in Kegalle after defying stop order

One person who was on a motorcycle was injured and admitted to the Kegalle hospital yesterday (14) after police fired shots at the motorcycle that was being driven in defiance of police orders at a roadblock in Daluggala area of ​​Kegalle Rambukkana main road,  Kegalle DIG Roshan Rajapakse said. At around 3.20 am, a motorcycle was travelling on the road when the police officers at the roadblock signaled to stop the motorcycle, but the motorcycle disobeyed the order and hit a police constable, and the police officers opened fire.

Chatura Madhusankha, a resident of Hirivadunna Randeniya, was injured in the shooting and was admitted to the Kegalle General Hospital. Rambukkana Police Constable Devinda who was injured in the accident, was admitted to Rambukkana Hospital and transferred to the Kegalle General Hospital for further treatment.

A roadblock was placed on the Rambukkana Kegalle road in the Daluggala area on Tuesday (13) morning on the information that a person in the Hurimaluwa district was transporting heroin.
