‘Aswesuma’ Programme is good but should benefit all - Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said yesterday (26) when the Executive Council of the Opposition met that the ‘Aswesuma’ Welfare Programme is good but it should be implemented from the grassroots level which benefits all.

The Opposition Leader said that there is a dilemma regarding the process of selection of beneficiaries for the relief programme and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya as an Opposition party had highlighted the need for a proper survey.

He said that more than 80 percent of the programme would be a success if the beneficiaries were selected based on electricity consumption as suggested by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
