Check people’s mandate in a poll - NPP

JVP General Secretary Tilvyn Silva yesterday said that the mandate given by the people can only be revived through an election.

Addressing a press conference held at the JVP Headquarters, Silva said that the government is attempting to grant the people’s sovereignty to the relevant minister.

“As Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and National People’s Power, we are taking all efforts to negate these efforts, Silva said.

He said that his party will take legal action too. “All should work together to pressure the government for an early Local Government election,”he said.
