National People’s Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said on Sunday at a public gathering in Sydney, Australia that the past leaders of Sri Lanka have propagated racism for the sake of power.
Dissanayake said that Sri Lanka is facing its greatest crisis in recent history and that racism is starting to raise its head again in a different form.
Dissanayake further said that Sri Lanka’s political culture needs to be changed and the National People’s Power is ready for that challenge. He emphasized that the country cannot move forward by creating tensions between the Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and Burgher communities.
