Worst disaster in 24 years; Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa

 

The country is facing the worst disaster situation experienced in the last 24 years, Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadarshana Yapa stated.

 

Briefing the diplomatic community in Sri Lanka at the Foreign Affairs Ministry this afternoon he explained that government is able to manage the food and clothing needs of the affected community. He highlighted the need for items such as motor boats, purification tablets and equipment to continue rescue and relief efforts.
