Ten new Quarantine Centres have been set up in the country for repatriated Sri Lankans, Labour Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told the media.
These well-equipped centres have been set up with Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) funds and services will be provided free of charge at these quarantine centres for returning Sri Lankans.
Rs.18 million is spent by the SLBFE every week to provide health and other sanitary services to the repatriated Sri Lankans.
Around 571 persons can be housed at each centre at a given time.
So far private hotels and rest houses have been selected to be used as Quarantine Centres for Sri Lankans returning from abroad.
