Haul of illegal fags seized, two suspects arrested

Special Task Force (STF) personnel on Saturday arrested a suspect along with 10,000 foreign cigarettes in the Modera Police Division on a tip off

The suspect (35) is a resident of Colombo 15. He has been handed over to the Modera Police. The STF on Friday also nabbed a suspect along with 5,000 illegal cigarettes from Negombo. A stock of foreign cigarettes and liquor were seized last week as well. The contraband consisted 150 cartons of foreign cigarettes and liquor worth over Rs 3 million, an STF Officer said.
