Fuel sold at high prices in Matale

Vehicle owners in the Matale District said that most petrol sheds in the District are selling fuel at very high prices.

Organised groups obtain fuel from these petrol sheds at night and sell at exorbitant prices. They said that that these filling stations have not been supervised properly and immediate action should be taken by the relevant authorities to abolish this racket.

Meanwhile, public services in the district are at a standstill as long queues for fuel are at every filling station.
